As a child, I was fascinated by whirlpools, yet at the same time I was afraid of their enormous power to pull you to the bottom.
Fighting against this powerful suction did not make sense, inevitably you would lose. Only if you let go and surrender yourself to the swirling movement of the wave, can you land on the bottom and escape the powerful suction of the downward spiral. This vortex I see as metaphor for surrender and trust. Sometimes you have to go deep to ultimately experience the lightness of existence.

When we have a connection, we balance each other; We are in an emotional equilibrium. For me, this is the basis of my work. Contact is essential, both with the people around us and with ourselves.
